A lap sponge (laparotomy or abdominal sponge) is a large, soft, highly absorbent medical cotton pad used during major surgeries to soak up blood and fluids, protect delicate organs, and control bleeding
Features
- Material: 100% pure, soft cotton gauze designed with high absorbency and minimal lint
- Safety Design: Includes a blue X-ray detectable (radiopaque) strip or thread and a cotton retrieval loop/string so it can be easily identified on scans and quickly removed from a cavity
